'The first House recognized by local government was established by a group of dedicated roleplayers who banded together to oppose the Unlife the growing influence of the Grand Poobah over the adventurers of the Landing. Titanic battles were fought by Lady Wisraith and Lord Riverwind, Lord Lythe, Lord Fxg, and their allies in their crusade against the Unlife. They even dared to assault the stronghold of the Unlife itself, repeatedly killing the Grand Poobah and his underlings. Finally, the Grand Poobah called on dark powers to place wards around his stronghold, powerful enough to withstand the assaults of the House of the Rising Phoenix. In a secure stronghold, the Unlife strengthened its influence. The House of the Rising Phoenix continued its valiant battle, but even these intrepid crusaders wearied. Most have moved on to far lands, seeking to escape the evil they so abhor. The House of the Rising Phoenix has not been the same nor very active since then, but if you are intrigued by a "House dedicated to preventing the furtherance of the goals of the Unlife," talk with Lady Galauriel, Lord Maruko, or Lord Waldo2. Membership fees are reasonable, but only strong roleplayers with untainted souls need apply.'
